Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo managed to climb to the first position after the second test day at Sepang, Malaysia. Ending the first race of this second test in Sepang 3 tenths of a second behind Honda's Dani Pedrosa, Lorenzo has switched places with his rival, the new gap being altogether comparable.
Pedrosa has some problems with the bikes, but Team Honda declared they're ready to apply everything they've learned during these two days in the bike setup for the final test day. Satellite Yamaha team rider Cal Crutchlow came in third position, an impressive performance, given the fact that his bike differs quite a lot from the one Rossi is riding.

The Doctor finished in 5th position, with rookie extraordinaire Marc Marquez of Honda still ahead of him. Both riders were really close behind Crutchlow, so the third test day will be a decisive one.

Ducatis were a bit faster, too, still far behind the leaders and slowly working on reducing the 1.5s gap. It looks like the technicians have finally found a way to better the GP13 machines and results are showing up, even though at a very slow pace. There is still some time left until the kick-off race in Qatar, so there is still a good deal of hope. Timings after the jump.
