2013 is definitely not a good year for Pramac Ducati's Ben Spies, as he's back in the hospital after dislocating his left shoulder during a crash in FP3 at Indianapolis, his first race after a long period of absence due to right shoulder injuries and complications.
Spies suffered a 3rd degree acromioclavicular joint dislocation, meaning that his collarbone was separated from the scapula, forcing him to retire from the Indy race. Though such injuries can be treated without the need of surgery, it is not clear yet what will the doctors decide.

What's certain tough, is the fact that he will be out for the next 3 weeks or so, thus missing the important upcoming races at Brno and Silverstone. With rather little chances to make up for the points he lost during his absence, all we can do is hope Spies is back into one piece as soon as possible and free from more injuries for the future.

At the moment Spies is in a hospital in Dallas and we'll be back with updates on his condition as soon as news surfaces.
