Bad news from the Pramac Ducati camp as their Italian Andrea Iannone will miss the Laguna Seca round this weekend, as medical tests showed a small fracture in the neck of his right humerus.
Iannone crashed during practice at Sachsenring last weekend and MRI and CT scan have also shown blood accumulation and severe bruising which are most likely to cause pain and loss of strength, making the Italian unfit to race in the next round.

Fortunately enough, the investigations did not show any muscle or tendon damage and the doctors believe he will be just fine in time for the first after-break race at Indianapolis, also in the US.

Even more bad news for the Ducati satellite team comes from the other riders, as Alex de Angelis is already substituting for injured Ben Spies, and the other "spare" Michele Pirro is unavailable due to factory tests in Misano, Italy. This means Pramac cannot send any of their contracted riders at Laguna Seca, and that's too bad.

Andrea Iannone crashed during FP4 in the German GP after accidentally selecting the pit lane mapping, abnd being subsequently launched from his bike as it braked down violently. Iannone is currently on the 13th position in the MotoGP championship, with 24 points.
