2013 Chevrolet Malibu Unveiling Ready for HD Web Broadcast

Earlier this month, Chevrolet provided a glimpse of the all-new Malibu through two teaser images, one showing a portion of the rear of the car, and one with the new center console and a instrument cluster in a blur. Now, a teaser to the global premier of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu has also been released, taking viewers behind the scenes to how the newest Malibu’s exterior designer, Dan Gifford, envisioned the model.

The 2013 Malibu will be unveiled in the United States on Monday night when, with the event streamed live over the Internet in full-screen, high-definition video for worldwide access. However, Standard internet viewing will also be available.

The HD streaming is an auto industry first, with the video stream on Facebook and iPad/iPhone to be in standard definition.

The timing of the Web reveal coincides with the April 19 auto show debut of the new Malibu in Shanghai. The company hasn’t confirmed yet whether it will bring the car to the 2011 NYIAS event as well.

"We are expanding the reach beyond mainstream product introductions typically seen at auto shows. We are using the latest technologies available to us like no other automaker has done before to introduce this all-new, important car for Chevrolet on continents around the world,"
said Russ Clark, product director at Chevrolet. "Broadcasting in HD will help us make sure the world gets a good look at the all-new Malibu."

Be sure to tune in on Monday, April 18th at 8:30PM EDT at the following Facebook link to catch the global premiere.
