The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration introduced the New Car Assessment Program this year, with the move bringing lower ratings for cars that had previously received a five-star rating. Now, the NHTSA has recorded the first car that managed to earn a five star safety rating under the new testing conditions: the Chevrolet Camaro.
The 2012 model year Camaro coupe earned the maximum number of point in all the safety tests, including the include frontal barrier crash test ratings for the driver and passenger, side crash ratings for the driver and passenger, as well as a vehicle rollover rating.

Our say: we are more than happy to be able to report that cars can be fun and safe at the same time.
