In case the X Xc Renegade is a bit too much for your own good or budget, you can always try the base liter-class 2013 model, the Can-Am Renegade 1000.
However, this is no slacker, either, as is not recommended for beginners, let alone children: an 82 HP Rotax v-twin power plant is not a toy, and it's not to be taken lightly. The new-generation Surrounding Spar frame with revised wheel alignment is said to improve ground contact on all types of terrain and surfaces, so we expect riders to have more fun on forest trails, sand dunes and dirt tracks, as well.

Front and rear suspensions are loaded with FOX HPG shocks for premium damping, and an underbelly skid plate keeps rocks and obstacles from damaging the lower components. A 240W, 4-piece lighting array offers excellent visibility in poor light or in case night catches you still wandering on wild trails, while the backlit LED digital console is also highly visible and provides comprehensive vehicle data.

Like always, a heap of optional accessories are available, too. The 2013 Can-Am Renegade 1000 base price is $8,149 (€6,290).
