The 2013 version of the BMW X6 M received a mild refresh. It has a new, more flashy front fascia and some new details here and there that are enough to set it apart from the previous versions and prolong its life until the new model is launched.
The guys from Ridelust took the flagship Sports Activity Coupe for a ride to see just how good (or bad) it actually is. The results were surprising to some, but not to us.

Actually, the X6 is everything it seems when you first look at it. A big, massive, coupe-like shaped car that will scare the faint-hearted and make 'em pull over and get out of their cars when they see it in their rearview mirror.
That's true for any X6, even the base xDrive35i model. Going big, over to the M model, things really get out of control. The exterior design is even more aggressive and the 4.4-liter V8 engine under the bonnet will try to break you in every possible way.

The 555 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque that are sent to all four corners of the car make you forget about the size of this behemoth vehicle. It goes into and exits corners like it's no bigger than a regular 3 Series.

However, you still get to carry your family around with it, on any kind of terrain, due to its excellent xDrive system.  Most importantly, you can do that even when you're in a big hurry, because the car accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 seconds.

The front seats are 'OUTSTANDING' according to ride lust and the car will comfortably seat 5 people and their complete luggage with ease. The fuel consumption might not be excellent but at 2,380 kg (5,247 lb) what would you expect?

Bottom line, the X6 M is not for everyone. It is the more aggressive, meaner brother of a more practical X5 M, a car that is worth the respect of every ML63 AMG and Q7 out there. It's fast, big and mean. You can either love or hate this car, no in between, mixed feelings allowed.
