It looks like BMW had a little surprise up its sleeve. Both the F12 BMW M6 Coupe and the F13 M6 Cabrilolet were expected at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. However, turn your attention to the 1:40 mark of this video posted by Shmee150, and you’ll notice Tiff Needell is behind the wheel of the drop-top.
The 60-year old TV presenter and ex-racing driver knows how to work the crowd and even gets the tail out for good measure.
Both cars are powered by the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, good for 560 hp and mated to a 7-speed DCT transmission and an active M Differential.
In the M6 Coupe, this means 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) in 4.2 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 12.6 seconds. While the convertible is a bit slower, it’s still quicker than the M5, which has the same engine.
