2012 Volkswagen Jetta Commercial: Solid Door Thunk

Who would have thunk that you can name and make a commercial after a door thunk? But Volkswagen did this just right for the Jetta on sale in the US today, and we’re impressed.
The best thing about this commercial is not what they said - quality of the door thunk and such - but what they didn’t say, which is that it’s got “German quality”. That’s because everybody knows where the Jetta is actually built.

The Jetta is manufactured by VW in Mexico and it’s priced from $16,645, which gets you the base S model, equipped with an anemic 2.0-liter 115 hp four-cylinder engine. This is supposed to get you 42 mpg highway and 30 mpg city, a good selling point in this market.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
