2012 Toyota Spade Japanese Commercial: Biking with Horses

You thought Russian car videos were strange? Wait until you see what the Japanese are doing! Anybody with an affinity for Youtube will tell you that commercials in the land of the rising sun are something else.
Toyota isn’t one to shy away from controversy either, as their TV ad for the new Auris sparked controversy recently, by featuring a transgender or androgynous looking Israeli model just to show the car was different.

Fortunately, there’s nothing sexual about this commercial, but it’s just as strange. The Toyota Spade is supposed to be a lifestyle vehicle, and to promote the fact that it has an electric sliding door, Toyota has a man on a bicycle coming out of it. Must be a really small man!

For some odd reason, the guy gets the sudden urge to ride next to some wild, bucking horses. Add a strange title, “nice face high speed”, a yealling voice and there you are, the Japanese what-the-fudge commercial is done!

In case you were wondering, the Spade was launched in July this year and is powered by either a 1.3-liter or a 1.5-liter petrol engine. Prices start at about 1,550,000 yen ($18,500), and my God did they ever copy VW with that front end!
