GM’s Australian division Holden is hard at work with the production version of the Commodore VF, which should hit the market in two year’s time, but until that happens, the current generation needs a bit of cosmetic enhancement to keep customers interested.
Thus, the 2012 model year has been released, sporting some minor changes to the interior and exterior. In addition to these less than inspiring changes, the Commodore now benefits from the availability of the track-focused FE3 sports suspension on the Redline series.
Getting back to the cosmetics, the outside of the car sports some subtle chrome jewelry in the for of some trim pieces added to the fog lamp housings and grille.
The Omega version brings new 16-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels, the Calais V a new lip spoiler and the powerful SS V-Series Redline Edition brings forged and polished 19-inch alloy wheels and rear brake calipers.
“We wanted the colour to express that unique connection Holden had with Peter, who was an incredibly talented man and a fine ambassador for Holden," said Holden Chief Designer Sharon Gauci. "Peter left a lasting impression on Holden and our company heritage so Perfect Blue is our way of celebrating his achievements.”
There’s also a new batch of exterior colors named Perfect Blue and Chlorophyll. The blue hue pays homage to Australian motorsport icon Peter Brock and his Formula Blue HDT Group A VK SS Commodore.
