2012 Ducati Monster 1100 EVO Ready for US Showroom Premiere

The North American division of Ducati is currently preparing to get the first 2012 model to enter production ready for its showroom premiere. The Ultimate Monster is to flood dealerships on the weekend of May 27-28, when consumers will get the chance to experience the 100 EVO up close and personal.

Participating dealers throughout the United States and Canada will host events, give demo rides and introduce fans to the first air-cooled Ducati to reach the 100hp milestone.

Key features of the Monster 1100 EVO include a redesigned tail section, new exhaust routing, a race-derived slipper clutch, and revised suspension. The bike also marks the debut of the new “Ducati Safety Pack,” which features the Ducati Traction Control system (adjustable on 4 levels) and ABS brakes.

“The 1100EVO is the first Ducati to reach 100 air-cooled horsepower, which is backed up by a significant 76lb/ft of torque thanks to the Desmodue Evoluzione engine. Wrapped into a svelte 373lb package, the 1100EVO also boasts the best power-to-weight ratio in Monster history. In the interest of rider comfort, the 1100EVO features a new seat design and higher handlebars- the combination of which gives the rider an excuse to stay on their bike longer and ride farther,” Ducati brags.

Ducati’s flagship Monster will retail for $11,995. Customers will be able to choose from two color schemes: red – with a racing-style white stripe along the center of the front mudguard, tank and single-seat cover – and red Trellis frame or black with both stripe and frame in racing-grey.

Both Monster colors use sporty looking black wheels with short red pin-strip and can be further personalized from a choice of additional liveries available within the innovative Monster Art program.
