The Australian division of Yamaha announced today it expects to double figures in 2011, as the XC125 Vity scooter is to go on sale in April. The scooter has a fuel-injected, air-cooled four-stroke, single-cylinder engine, and the wet weight is 110 kg (243 pounds) with 5.5 litres (1.45 gallons) of fuel.

“Like the new BeeWee, Vity benefits from Yamaha's expertise in 4-stroke single cylinder engine design, and combines performance, refinement and resilience with a front disc brake that provides assured stopping,” a company statement reads.

The scooter also benefits from 10-inch tires, large seat, an easily accessible storage compartments, rear luggage rack, three-spoke aluminium wheels, and it comes in laser blue or gun metallic.

“The lightweight and compact 10 inch diameter wheels are shod with 100/90-10 tires at the front and rear. Combined with a short wheelbase, they make for quick steering, low rider inputs and easy low speed manoeuvrability. Finished in black, these stylish 3-spoke aluminium wheels add a touch of class,” Yamaha Australia says in a release.

Pricing is to be announced closer to the market launch.
