2011 Ford Edge Pricing Released

One of the vehicles that will lead Ford’s North American sales offensive this year is the 2011 Edge. The car will come to life via the company’s Canadian Oakville Assembly Complex. The first units of the car will arrive in dealerships by the end of the current year.

Since we’re talking about sales, we have to mention pricing. Ford has just released the prices for the complete Edge range, announcing that the entry-level model will start at $27,220.

The 2011 Ford edge line includes four models. The SE, SEL and limited models, are powered by a 3.5 liter V6 unit developing 285hp. The engine sits at the top of its class in terms of power, while offering an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 19/27 mpg (city/highway). The base of the range is the SE front wheel drive-only model. This is followed by the SEL, which starts at $30,220 for the front wheel drive version and at $32,070 for the all wheel drive model. The version adds a six speed automatic gearbox and dual zone air conditioning.

You’ll have to pay $34,220 for the front wheel drive Limited model and $36,070 for the all wheel drive incarnation of the car. For the money, you’ll get extra features such has MyFord Touch and a Sony Audio System with HD Radio.

At the top of the range we find the Sport model, which uses a 305 hp 3.7 liter TiVCT V6 model (the same engine form the Mustang), mated to a six speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. The unit’s EPA rating sits at 18/25 mpg. The front wheel drive version will set you back $36,220, while the all wheel drive model will cost you $38,070.

The 2011 Edge will also receive Ford’s 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine, which promises to offer class-topping power and economy figures.
