2011 Ducati Riding Experience Debuts Troy Bayliss Academy

The British division of Ducati announced today it will introduce a new Troy Bayliss Academy course through this year’s Ducati Riding Experience riding school, a program that also includes the new Monster 796, 848EVO and 1198 SP bikes.

The Troy Bayliss Academy, which uses the new Ducati 1198 SP is designed to further extend opportunities for track-day riders. Groups will be restricted to just four riders per day, each riding with, and receiving direct tuition, from the triple World Superbike Champion himself.

The calendar of events for this year’s curses includes major circuits across Italy such as Adria, Imola, Monza and Mugello. “The safety-driven, but adrenaline-filled event collaborates with the Italian Motorcycle Federation (FMI) setting a new benchmark in fully approved instruction,” Ducati says.

The Basic course features the Monster 796 motorcycles, while more experienced riders can benefit from the Intermediate course, which uses Monster 796, Hypermotard 796 and Hypermotard 1100EVO models.

On the track, the Racing 1 course, which teaches basic track riding-skills, uses the brand new 848EVO and it is held at the Adria Circuit. On the other hand, the Racing 2 course, which uses the same machine, is intended for those who already have some track-riding experience and want to improve their style, technique and speed in a fully controlled and safe environment.

The 2011 Ducati Riding Experience also offers the Master course, which uses the new Ducati 1198 SP model.

“DRE participants will enjoy considerable track-time on some of Italy’s top race circuits and full immersion into the world of Ducati, as well as tuition from an incredible line-up of instructors and champions from National, European and World level such as Dario Marchetti, Alessandro Polita and charismatic 500cc World Champion, Marco Lucchinelli,” a company statement reads.

DRE course fees range from €350 for the Basic course to €2000 for the Troy Bayliss Academy and include use of motorcycle, tyres, instructor, fuel, lunch and welcome kit. Course registration opens here on January 20, 2011.
