2010 Ducati Riding Experience Gets FMI Recognition

The Italian motorcycle manufacturer revealed it has reached an agreement with the Federazione Motociclistica Italiana (FMI) for a more complex and diversified programme of riding courses this year. The 2010 Ducati Riding Experience (DRE) has a line-up of 30 top instructors, a fleet of 90 dedicated Ducati motorcycles and a support staff of more than 30 to ensure participants high standards riding courses. “While remaining true to the formula that has made the DRE so successful, 2010 will see the adoption of FMI parameters and protocols for the Basic Course, providing a firm foundation for new riders to learn on right from the start," a company statement reads. "Furthermore, the DRE organisation will share their proven track training methods with Italian Federation experts so as to create the first officially certified school in Italy, a certification to which all schools will have to qualify in future,” the statement continues. Beginners will get acquainted with an user-friendly Ducati Monster 696 machine in the Basic Course, while those who have already rode on two wheels will improve their skills aboard a Hypermotard 796, 1100 and Monster 1100 in the Intermediate course. Finally, track skills will be perfected aboard a Superbike 848 during the Racing 1 and Racing 2 courses, while the Master Racing course is made aboard the 1198 S with Ducati Traction Control. 2010 DRE Calendar:

  • 20-21 May - Adria - Basic – Intermdiate – Racing 1
  • 25-26 June - Imola - Basic – Racing 2 – Master Racing
  • 15-16 July - Mugello - Basic – Racing 2 – Master Racing
  • 9-10 Sept - Adria - Basic – Intermediate – Racing 1
