A few days ago, we've learned that Chevrolet will bring the 2011 Captiva SUV at the Paris Auto Show, that opens its doors to the press later this month, and the only photos we got were the ones showing the revised front and rear sides. Although Chevrolet mentioned that the interior has been refreshed too, there were no images to give us a glimpse into what the guys over at GM's core brand are offering on the new Captiva.
So, here you are, the first picture that reveals the dashboard which, at first glance, comes with a new audio system with an auxiliary port for different sources, Bluetooth connectivity and and USB port. The photo published by Carscoop also shows an electric park brake controller that replaces the regular lever, probably to increase the amount of interior space and enhance ergonomics.
Apart from the interior, the 2011 model will come as standard with a new manual or automatic six-speed transmission. The new engine line-up is comprised of one petrol engine (171 hp 2.4-liter) and two turbo-diesel variants (163 or 184 hp 2.2-liter). Standard safety features include ESC, TCS, BAS, and front-, side- and curtain airbags.
Production is expected to begin in the first months of 2011, with the first batch of vehicles likely to reach dealerships in spring next year.
autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Paris Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
