Renault Confirms South Korean Roadshow in October

Koreans will witness a piece of F1 action in early October, courtesy of Renault F1 Team. A few weeks before the start of the first Korean Grand Prix in the history of Formula One, the Enstone-based team has planned a Renault F1 Team Roadshow in the streets of the South Korean capital, Seoul.

This will be the perfect chance to get the Korean fans of F1 excited prior to the official round in the 2010 championship, as they will get to see, hear and enjoy the show put up by Renault's test and reserve driver Ho-Pin Tung in a 2009-spec R29. The demonstration laps will take place on a temporary street circuit set up in Seoul.

Every time we race in a new country, we are provided with an exciting opportunity to reach out to a new public and to win new fans, by introducing them to the thrill of Formula 1,” said Renault F1 team principal Eric Boullier in a statement, according to the team's official website.

According to the release, the event will be held in partnership with Renault Samsung Motors, South Korea’s number three auto maker, and the organisers of the Formula 1 Korean Grand Prix, South Jeolla Provinicial Government and Korean Auto Valley Operation.

When it comes to the Korean Grand Prix, it makes sense that the Renault F1 Team should spearhead the sport’s arrival in South Korea. Renault has strong links to the country, through Renault Samsung Motors, and we are proud to be giving the residents of Seoul their first experience of F1, at the beginning of a landmark month for motorsport in South Korea,” added Boullier.

The event will take place between October 2-3, while the Korean Grand Prix is scheduled some three weeks later, between October 22-24, at the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam.
