2011 Cadillac CTS Gets IIHS Top Safety Pick

The 2011 Cadillac CTS is now on the list of vehicles that have been chosen as a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, as the car has received the highest-possible rating of “Good” for the front, side, rear and rollover crash protection tests.

"The CTS earns the Institute's top safety designation with the highest ratings in four demanding crash tests," said Institute president Adrian Lund. "The tough award criteria also require electronic stability control, a crucial safety feature that can help drivers avoid many crashes altogether."

The 2011 CTS has been built using Cadillac’s safety philosophy that covers the events that occur before, during and after a crash. The vehicle uses a high-strength steel body structure and safety cage. These are complimented by a number of standard safety features. The list of “guardian angels” includes dual-stage driver and passenger front airbags, front seat mounted pelvic, thorax side air bags, roof-rail side curtain airbags that cover the front and the rear seats of the vehicle, reduced force front safety belts with dual pretensioners and front seat active head restrains.

In addition to that, the vehicle comes equipped with the safety and security OnStar assistance system.

The IIHS Top Safety Pick Award strengthens the reputation of the CTS,” said Don Butler, vice president of Cadillac Marketing. “The CTS has not only caught the attention of enthusiasts with its cutting-edge design and dynamic driving experience, but it also continues to be a leader in its class for safety and quality."
