BMW is offering us the first pricing information for its newest vehicle, the X3 SUV. The company’s Italian division has released the prices for the versions of the SUV that will be available on the market subsequent to the car’s launch.BMW’s Italian division also said that the SUV will hit the market in late November.
The BMW X3 is set to make its public debut at the Paris Auto show in September, with the car initially only offering two engines: a 2.0 liter diesel (X3 xDrive2.0d) that delivers 184 hp and 380 NM of torque, as well as a 3.0 liter twin-turbocharged petrol straight six (X3 xDrive35i) offering 306 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm.
This is for the European market - the U.S. also gets the 3 liter twin-turbo petrol, but loses the diesel for a naturally aspirated 3.0 liter straight six (X3 xDrive28i) producing 240 hp and 311 Nm of torque.
The pricing information for the new German SUV brings bad news, as the vehicle is offered for considerably higher price tags, compared to those of the current model. While the current xDrive20d has a price of EUR42,850 ($54,950), the newcomer will set you back EUR46,900 ($60,140). The xDrive35i follows the same pattern: the current model has a price of EUR53,500 ($68,600), but the upcoming one will retail for EUR56,600 ($72,600).
We’ll have to wait and see what BMW has planned for the X3 on the U.S. market in terms of pricing.
Our Say: The BMW X3 is now mature. Unfortunately, so is its price.
