2011 AutoGlow Follows NAIAS

The 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) will be followed in January by a second automotive event, the 2011 AutoGlow. Meant as a premier after-glow event for the city of Detroit, the event is intended to benefit the Children's Center of Wayne County and will take place at the Westin Book Cadillac on January 14.

The presenting sponsor the event will be American manufacturer Ford, who will send Bill Ford himself to host the event, together with his wife, Lisa, and Alan Mulally, Ford's president and CEO, and his wife, Nicki.

"Ford Motor Company's support of The Children's Center is a shining example of our commitment to improve the communities in which we do business," said Bill Ford. "We are proud to support The Children's Center's mission to help children and families shape their own positive futures."

The organizers of the event are already selling tickets to AutoGlow, with the price for one being set at $250 per person, with $130 of the ticket price being tax deductible. For that money, those attending will be receiving several treats.

In the opening hours of AutGlow, a pre-reception will feed the participants with hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, entertainment and shuttles running to-and-from Cobo Center for Charity Preview. Later in the night, strolling dinner, desserts, an open bar, dancing and entertainment will entertain the crowds.

As said, all the fun, food and games will be offered as incentives to lend a helping hand to the Children's Center of Wayne County. The organization was founded in 1929 by US Senator James Couzens, at one point General Manager of Ford Motor Company.
