Just as we told you yesterday, Swedish carmaker Volvo will unveil the 2010 C70 at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The new version comes with several enhancements in almost every single area.

The first things you'll notice when looking at it is the new V-shaped front appearance, with new and larger air intake, new headlamps and LED taillights. The new C70 is offered in a new red color, Flamenco Red Pearl. Inside, Volvo installed new instruments, with gauges and graphics exclusively available on the C70.

"The new C70 has a clearer, more pronounced face. The car's natural elegance has been modernised so it blends seamlessly with the most up-to-date, the most sophisticated backdrops," says Fedde Talsma, Exterior Chief Designer at Volvo Cars. "We've focused the new interior features around the driver to give the owner a stronger perception of being rewarded behind the wheel. The seats are upholstered in a new type of soft hide and there is even better detail finish to make driving a more pleasurable experience than ever before."

Safety is one of the main upgraded parts, with the car offering unique door-mounted inflatable curtain, side-impact airbags and safety belt pre-tensioners for all seats. Protection in roll-over accidents is assured by Volvo's ROPS system based on a gyro-sensor.

Last but not least, the engine lineup has been upgraded to be more environmentally friendly but, at the same time, provide at least the same high amount of power you'd expect. There are three petrol engines - T5 230 hp, 2.4i 170 hp and 2.4 140 hp - and two diesels - D5 180 hp and 2.0D 136 hp.
