2010 Toyota 4Runner Teased, World Debut at State Fair of Texas

Toyota has just announced that its all new 4Runner model will be officially revealed next month in Dallas at the State Fair of Texas. The public unveiling will be done during a news conference on September 24, the Japanese manufacturer said earlier today when launching the first teaser supposed to give us a glimpse into how the future model will look like.

Unfortunately, there are no details on the car but Toyota promises the fifth-generation 4Runner offers "sure-footed off-road capability and increased comfort with added roominess". Furthermore, the car will be "more rugged than ever" and will continue to provide outstanding off-road abilities.

The adjacent teaser doesn't show us too many details of the model, other than the car will still rely on off-roading so it will boast huge tires with improved suspension system.

Now in the fourth generation, with the 2009 model nominated for the 2010 North American Car and Truck of the Year award, the current Toyota 4Runner is based on the Land Cruiser Prado and comes with an impressive line-up of new features. Even if the design of the car is the most obvious improvement of the new generation, the 4Runner comes with a lot of other changes related to the standard features and to the engines.

The vehicle has by default a 4.0 liter V6 powerplant but a V8 unit is also available as an option. In addition, the Japanese company prepared a 4.7 liter engine which could produce 260 horsepower, being already used by Land Cruiser and Sequoia. In 2004, Toyota upgraded the models with a tire pressure monitoring system as standard feature.
