2010 Canadian Car of the Year Final 3

The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) announced yesterday the cars, SUVs, and trucks which will enter the final leg of the 2010 Canadian Car of the Year awards. The awards press conference is scheduled February, on Friday 11th, in the south Metro Toronto Convention Centre at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto. The finalists for all the categories taken into consideration by AJAC are listed below: 2010 Canadian Car of the Year
  • BMW 335d Sedan
  • Volkswagen Golf GTI
  • Volkswagen Golf Wagon TDI

2010 Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year
  • Lexus RX450h
  • Subaru Outback
  • Volkswagen Touareg TDI Clean Diesel

Best New Design

  • Audi A5 cabriolet
  • BMW 335d Sedan
  • Ford Taurus/Ford Taurus SHO

Best New Technology
  • Audi Canada Drive Select
  • Ford Motor Company of Canada MyKey
  • Volvo City Safety

Best New Green Technology
  • Ford Next Generation Hybrid System and SmartGauge
  • Mercedes- Benz S400 Hybrid with Lithium-ion Batteries
  • Toyota / Lexus Plant-based Ecological Plastics
  • Toyota / Lexus Beltless Atkinson-cycle Engine with Cooled Exhaust

The results of the vote and consequently the winners, compiled by international accounting firm KPMG, were named after more than 46,000 individual data points have been analyzed and 157 vehicles have been tested.

The winners of AJAC's awards will now get a chance to compete for the ultimate prize, the title of 2010 Canadian Car of the Year or the 2010 Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year. The ultimate car for this year will be announced, as said, on February 11th, at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto.
