The red 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 you’re looking at crossed the block for $3.5 million at Barrett-Jackson’s auction even in Scottsdale, Arizona, this weekend, becoming the most expensive Corvette ever sold during a public event.
The previous record was established in September 2013, when another 1967 Corvette L88 - a convertible version painted in Marlboro Maroon - fetched $3.2 million before fees.

Known as the only factory model to sport a red on red exterior-interior color combination, this L88 is fitted with special front and rear suspension, positraction rear axle, power brakes, special heavy duty brakes, transistor ignition, heavy duty close-ratio 4 speed transmission and many more. The V8 engine is officially rated at 430 HP.

The coupe comes with GM documentation in the form of a legible Tank Sheet (Order Copy) that has been validated by the GM/NCRS Document Validation Service. It also has received the highly-coveted Duntov Mark of Excellence Award.
