Chevrolet has announced plans to auction the right to purchase the first retail-production 2014 Camaro Z/28 this week at the Barret-Jackson Scottsdale car sale, with proceeds to benefit Detroit’s Cornerstone Schools.
The 2014 Camaro Z/28 wearing a vehicle identification number ending in 0001 will go under the hammer on Saturday evening, January 18. Bids for the musclecar can be submitted in person at the auction or online via Barrett-Jackson. The new Camaro Z/28 will retail from $75,000 when it hits US dealerships.

During the same event, Chevrolet will also auction the rights to purchase the first 2014 COPO Camaro drag strip racer. The auction is scheduled later today and will benefit the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans.

“Chevrolet is excited to offer these two milestone cars for the Barrett-Jackson bidders, with all the proceeds going to help a pair of very worthy groups,” said Jim Campbell, General Motors US vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports.
