Brough Superior is one of the oldest names in the motorcycle industry, and even if in its present form it has little to do with what the name meant back in the early 1920s, it still inspires and satisfies the needs of a lot of riders. Provided, of course, they have the resources to afford the expensive bikes the company is currently making.
Initially a British business, Brough Superior is now based in France and makes for a rather small but very impressive lineup of motorcycles, in two model lines, namely Brough Superior and Aston Martin.

The first family comprises at the moment the SS100 line, Pendine, Anniversary and Lawrence, while the Aston Martin breed comprises the mighty AMB 001. Technically they all can be had in most countries of this world, but until now ordering one of these bikes was a bit complicated due to the lack of proper local branches.

For a while now the company has been involved in an expansion process. It branched out to cover Japan earlier this year, and it is now eyeing a proper entry into the U.S. market with the opening of its first office in North America and plans for a store network in some of the country's most important cities.

The company says all of its models are fully homologated for the U.S. and Canadian markets, and they will be offered with a number of options that have not yet been detailed. The models Brough plans to sell in the U.S. are the SS100, Lawrence, and the AMB Pro, and the prices for them are huge, to put it mildly.

Take the SS100, for instance. A successor in name to one of the original Brough Superior motorcycles of the 1920s, it is powered by a 997cc engine that develops 100 horsepower in its most basic form (there are five distinct versions on the table). And it's priced at $81,075 before options. The same price applies to the Lawrence, which comes with pretty much the same powertrain setup.

The AMB 001 in its Pro configuration is, however, a lot more expensive, more than double the price of the others and more expensive than many luxury cars available out there, really: $183,895.

Granted, the bike does offer a lot more than the other bikes, like a total of 225 horsepower from the same engine. A six-speed transmission controls the engine, held in place by a CNC aluminum frame. The suspension system comes with an aluminum fork up front and an aluminum swingarm at the rear with an adjustable mono-shock.

Brough Superior plans to open its first flagship store in Malibu, California, in May 2024. It will be followed later on with new locations in Florida, Texas, Illinois, New York, and Georgia.
