The Red Bull Romaniacs is one of the hardest of the hard-enduro rallies of the planet, and it was more than once when big names were defeated by the almost insane terrain. The 2013 Romaniacs is also celebrating its 10th anniversary, and top world-class riders, such as Graham Jarvis, Chris Birch, Jonny Walker, Wade Young, or Ivan Cervantes are attending this edition to celebrate and race.
Before the 2013 Red Bull Romaniacs hit the awesome and breathtaking mountain scenery in the County of Sibiu (central Romania), the Prolog trial will sort out the men form the boys.
The Prolog is an obstacle course designed by the famous track manager Andy Fasekas, whose crazy contraptions are used worldwide in indoor enduro and enduro-cross championships, including the American one.
Since it's an anniversary edition, Andy went ahead and re-created the wall-ride, with some passages as high as 50 feet (15 meters) above the ground. This year's Prolog used 70 tons of logs, 60 cubic meters (2,120 cubic feet) of wood, 30 tons of stone, and 10 stumps, 3-feet across each.
We must also cheer for the 3 favorite ladies in the race for the unofficial Carpathian Queen title: Sorina Sandu (Romania), Veronika Dallhammer (Austria) i Ulla Gorber (Germany). Via Zona Enduro.
