Supercharged American drag racing beasts should pay a bit of respect to this Mk III Toyota Corolla for managing to achieve some drag worthy performances with only six cylinders.
Under this Supra’s hood lays a 3-liter 2JZ-GTE engine, blessed with a 76 mm turbocharger and a 100 shot direct port nitrous oxide system, which coupled to a TH400 transmission can deliver 1000 hp to those beefy rear wheels.
On the outside, the car looks pretty much stock and only the pro racing wheels and some stickers on the rear window gives away that it packs quite a punch on a line. Driven by James Ward, this awesome Mk III Supra recently managed to post a 8.82 seconds on the quarter mile at Royal Purple Raceway in Texas, while crossing the line at 159 mph (256 km/h).
