Segment: Touring
Production years: 2021, 2022
In 2021, the British motorcycle manufacturer launched the Triumph 3 GT 221 Limited Edition, a more touring-oriented motorcycle than the standard R model. It delivered excellent performance and was named after its peak torque of 221 Nm.
The GT model and the R version were available for only one year. They combined a unique color scheme with top-end performance specifications and Rocket's signature styling, handling, and effortless touring capabilities.
The bike was painted in a distinctive Red Hopper color found on the front fender and fuel tank, fitting perfectly with the Sapphire Black elements, like the front fender's brackets, headlight housings, side panels, rear bodywork, and radiator cowls.
The 2021 Triumph 3 GT 221 Limited Edition and its Rocket siblings were fitted with the same engine, the largest unit ever served on a production motorcycle worldwide, delivering the highest torque compared to other production machines.
As for the power figures, both 2021 Triumphs packed a 2,458cc four-stroke inline three-cylinder liquid-cooled engine fed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system, boasted 167 hp at 6,000 rpm and 221 Nm (163 lb-ft) torque at 4,000 rpm.
The bike's suspension was handled by a 47 mm fully adjustable Showa upside-down fork on the front and a fully adjustable Showa monoshock on the rear, delivering excellent suspension performance and handling.
In addition, the bike was available with 50+ Genuine Triumph Accessories designed along with the bike, including a range of luggage accessories for enhanced touring capabilities, with a patented cast aluminum retractable and lockable mounting system.
