SUZUKI SG 350 GOOSE (1991-1999) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 1991, Suzuki launched the SG 350 Goose, a supersport motorcycle, at the time packed with the latest technologies, which featured a rigid steel-piped diamond frame combined with the slim shape of a single-cylinder motorcycle and a style that resembles a classic mono-cylinder racer.

The Goose, a name inspired by the famous Gooseneck corner found on the Isle of Man TT racing course, was a tuned version of the DR 350 enduro engine with six more horsepower dressed up in a sexy chassis.

Although similar to the DR 350, Gosse’s engine had several significant modifications, one of which was the electric starter. Other main changes included an oil tank under the crankcase fitted with an oil cooler, a 40 mm carb, a raised first gear ratio, crank mass increased for better torque, and the cam timing and porting changed.

The 1991 Suzuki SG 350 Goose had its heartbeat set by a 348cc four-stroke one-cylinder oil-cooled engine with a power output of 33 hp at 8,000 rpm and 32 Nm (24 lb-ft) of torque available at 6,500 rpm. Combined with a six-speed manual transmission and a dry weight of 145 kg (320 lbs), the bike registered a top speed of 148 kph (92 mph).

For braking purposes, the bike packed a 300 mm disc with a four-piston caliper on the front wheel and a 200 mm disc with a two-piston caliper on the rear wheel.
