SUZUKI GSX-1300R Hayabusa (2016-2021) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2016, Suzuki released the GSX-1300R Hayabusa, a sports motorcycle that was quite simply the Ultimate Sportsbike. With a twist of the throttle, the bike responded with awesome acceleration and crisp throttle response in every gear with an unmatched top-end charge.

Thanks to a lightweight and rigid twin-spar aluminum frame and state-of-the-art suspension, the performance was matched by equally impressive handling, which provided exceptional control in tight corners, with reassuring stability in sweeping turns, and a smooth ride on the highway.

The Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers delivered better feedback to the rider and were lighter and more rigid than the conventional bolt-together calipers. The ABS was standard, which enhanced braking performance and saved some weight with its compact design.

The 2016 Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa featured the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) system that offered three different engine map settings that suited the rider’s personal performance style or adapted to the road conditions.

The engine featured lightweight aluminum alloy pistons for maximum performance in all conditions, lightweight titanium valves, iridium spark plugs for high combustion efficiency, and much more. In the middle of the twin-spar aluminum frame was a 1,340cc four-stroke four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 196 hp at 9,800 rpm and 154 Nm (114 lb-ft) of torque at 7,200 rpm.

The engine power, combined with a six-speed manual transmission and a dry weight of 220 kg (485 lbs), pushed the bike to a top speed of 297 kph (184 mph).
