Standard features include a Marzocchi telescopic fork with coil springs, dual Marzocchi, five-way adjustable rear shocks and a Brembo disc-based braking system, with dual 260mm ones in the front and a single 260 unit in the rear.

The 1978 MY Laverda 500 Zeta sports an air-cooled, four-stroke, 497cc, parallel twin cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and can produce 37 horsepower at 8500 rpm. It is a powerful yet agile half-liter naked roadster, that is equally suited for fast passes on the motorway, as well as weekend leisure rides through the countryside or daily commuting to and from work. The Laverda 500 Formula is a limited edition race-derived machine, with a production of just 210 units between 1977 and 1980.
