In 2017, Honda launched the MSX125 ABS, which came with the same engine as its predecessors but with a redesign that gave it a sharper new attitude with more of a mini-streetfighter feel. Besides the 12-inch wheels, the bike featured full-sized parts, such as a sturdy steel frame, a 31 mm inverted fork on the front, a monoshock rear suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, and a 125cc four-stroke engine.

The small bike came with an edgier look thanks to its integrated fuel tank and side panels, a modern stacked LED headlight, a sportier handlebar, an under-slung exhaust system, an upswept tail, and a higher passenger seat.

All the fun started with the engine that offered the perfect blend of performance with impressive fuel efficiency. The engine used low-friction technology such as an offset cylinder and a roller rocker arm for the valve gear and a Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system that offered excellent throttle response over a wide range of riding conditions.

As for the power figures, the 2017 Honda MSX125ABS was powered by a 124cc four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 10 hp with a peak at 7,000 rpm and 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) of torque available at 5,500 rpm.

For suspension, the bike packed a 31 mm inverted fork on the front, just like a full-sized motorcycle, and a steel box-section rear swingarm with a single shock absorber that provided comfortable rear wheel travel.

As for stopping power, the bike featured a 220 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the front wheel and a 190 mm disc with a single-piston caliper on the rear.
