HONDA MSX125 (2013-2014) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2014, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer launched the Honda MSX125, a standard motorcycle powered by a 124cc air-cooled engine that won the Motorcycle USA Motorcycle of the Year prize in 2014.

The bike represented the perfect mix between a full-sized motorcycle and a mini-bike, with a weight of 102 kg (225 lbs) and a wheelbase of 1,200 mm. It was specially designed for young riders and featured an economical four-speed transmission, fresh colors, gold-finished wheels, and front calipers.

The bike featured a mono-backbone frame that offered great vertical and horizontal rigidity with its square-section tubes but also offered the perfect balance of comfort and confidence. Also, the frame offered efficient storage for the PGM-FI fuel injection system-related components and electrical parts inside the tank cover without reducing fuel capacity.

Another aim for the MSX125 motorcycle was to provide top-class suspension, so it featured for the first time on a 125cc Honda motorcycle a 31 mm USD fork on the front, while on the rear it packed a lightweight and robust single shock absorber.

As for braking power, the bike features a 220 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the front wheel and a 190 mm disc with a single-piston caliper on the rear wheel.

As for power, the 2014 Honda MSX125 was powered by a 124cc four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 10 hp with maximum strength at 7,000 rpm and 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) of torque available at 5,500 rpm.
