HONDA FX650 Vigor (1999-2002) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Honda FX650 Vigor was an enduro motorcycle manufactured by Honda in 1999 as the successor to the Honda SLR 650 and continued production until 2002. It was a reliable, good-handling machine that was also easy to maintain.

In the aesthetic department, the motorcycle packed features, such as wire-spoke wheels, a small engine plate, an exhaust system with a silencer mounted high on the right-hand side, a one-piece dual seat, a luggage rack, and a round headlight integrated into a small cowl with a tiny windscreen.

The 1999 Honda FX650 Vigor had installed a 644cc four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine under the fuel tank. It was fed by a 40 mm carburetor and delivered 40 hp at 5,750 rpm and 54 Nm (40 lb-ft) torque at 4,500 rpm.

The power was handled by a five-speed gearbox controlled by a wet multi-plate manual clutch and sent to the rear axle via a final chain drive.

The bike was built around a double steel frame that housed the suspension system, which comprised a 45 mm inverted telescopic fork on the front and a Pro-Link shock absorber on the rear, offering excellent handling capabilities.

As for the braking power, the 19-inch front wheel was equipped with a 276 mm brake rotor clamped to a dual-piston caliper, and the 17-inch rear wheel with a 220 mm brake disc tied to a single-piston caliper.
