The Ducati 888 was a sports motorcycle dressed in a full fairing, manufactured from 1991 to 1994 as an upgrade to the Ducati 851, which was the first motorcycle that introduced liquid cooling, electronically controlled fuel injection, and four-valve heads to twin-cylinder engines.

In 1993, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati 888 Biposto, a more affordable machine than its 888SP5 sibling, with lower-grade specs but still powerful enough.

In the visual department, the 1993 Ducati 888 Biposto was fitted with standard features, such as three-spoke lightweight wheels, a dual exhaust system with a muffler on each side, a single seat, a full fairing with a small windscreen, and a rectangular headlight.

The bike's handling was achieved by a 43 mm adjustable USD telescopic fork on the front and an adjustable Showa shock absorber on the rear with progressive linkage, delivering excellent handling capabilities.

In the braking department, the bike's wheels were fitted with two 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front and a 220 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear, offering strong stopping power.

As for the power figures, the 1993 Ducati 888 Biposto had its soul brought to life by an 888cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine with an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system in charge, delivering an output power of 104 hp at 9,000 rpm and 80 Nm (69 lb-ft) torque at 7,000 rpm.

In 1993, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati 888SP5, a fully faired sports machine and an advanced version of the standard 888 model. The bike was produced in 1993 in only 500 units.

The 1993 Ducati 888SP5 packed a higher-performance SPS engine with an SP4 cooling system that continued to set performance standards for twin-cylinder machines. It retained all the SP features, including twin injectors, con-rods, and a close-ratio gearbox.

Some modifications were brought to the chassis, including the replacement of the Ohlins fork with a Showa unit, bronze-finished frame and wheels, Termignoni carbon fiber mufflers, a fully-floating rear brake disc, and braided-steel brake lines.

In the aesthetic department, the 1993 Ducati 888SP5 packed standard features, such as a full fairing with a small windscreen, a rectangular headlight, a single seat, a dual exhaust system with a muffler on each side, and three-spoke lightweight wheels.

Underneath its fuel tank, the 1993 Ducati 888SP5 had an 888cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine with an electronically controlled fuel injection system in charge, delivering 116 hp at 10,500 rpm and 85 Nm (63 lb-ft) torque at 7,000 rpm.

The bike's engine was coupled to a six-speed manual transmission with a dry multi-plate clutch and a final chain drive, spinning the rear wheel to a top speed of 260 kph (162 mph).

The Ducati 888 was a fully faired sports machine manufactured from 1991 to 1994 as an upgrade to the Ducati 851. The 851 model introduced liquid cooling, an electronically-controlled fuel injection system, and four-valve heads to the two-cylinder engine.

In 1991, the maker increased the capacity of the 851 engine to 888cc and created the Ducati 888. In 1991, Ducati manufactured a total of 1,850 units, such as 1,200 units of the 851 Strada models, 534 units of the SP# model, and 16 models of the SPS version.

In 1992, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati 888SP4, a race-ready machine that fitted the taste of any rider who made zero compromises in the power department.

In the aesthetic department, the 1992 Ducati 888SP4 had fitted standard features, such as a full fairing with a rectangular headlight, a small windscreen, a single seat with lumbar support, a dual exhaust system with a muffler on each side, and three-spoke lightweight wheels.

Underneath its clothes, the 1992 Ducati 888SP4 had installed an 888cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine with an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, delivering an output power of 116 hp at 10,500 rpm and 85 Nm (63 lb-ft) torque at 7,000 rpm.
