DUCATI ST4S ABS (2006-2007) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2006, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati ST4S ABS, a sport-tourer machine in its last year of production, being replaced by the Ducati ST3S version that retained its suspension components.

The Ducati ST4S debuted in 2002 and continued production until 2006. The bike was part of the ST family that debuted in 1997 and comprised five models with similar appearances and different engines.

As its name says, the 2006 Ducati ST4S ABS packed an additional safety feature in the form of an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) that enhanced its overall capabilities and reduced the risk of tipping the bike in various riding conditions.

The bike was fitted with standard features, such as a full fairing with an adjustable windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with a passenger grab rail, five-spoke alloy wheels, optional side-mounted panniers, and a dual exhaust system that could be adjusted upwards when the panniers were off for a more lean angle.

The bike's power came from a 996cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine with a fuel injection system in charge of the pistons, delivering an output power of 117 hp at 8,750 rpm and 98 Nm (72 lb-ft) torque at 7,000 rpm.

The engine power was handled by a six-speed manual transmission with a hydraulically controlled wet multi-plate clutch and a final chain drive, pushing the machine to 249 kph (155 mph).
