DUCATI ST3S ABS (2006-2007) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2006, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati ST3S ABS, a sport-touring machine that debuted in 2006, part of the ST series that comprised various models with similar appearances but different engines.

The Ducati ST3S version borrowed the ST4S suspension components but retained the ST3 engine without any modifications whatsoever. Compared to the ST3S standard model, the ST3S ABS model, as its name suggests, packs an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) as a standard option.

For appearance, the bike was equipped with standard features, such as a full fairing with an adjustable windscreen, a dual headlight layout, a single-piece double seat with a passenger grab handle, a dual exhaust system, and three-spoke lightweight alloy wheels.

In the power department, the 2006 Ducati ST3S ABS had its heartbeat set by a 994cc four-stroke three-valve per cylinder liquid-cooled V-twin engine with a fuel injection system in charge, delivering 83 hp at 8,500 rpm and 84 Nm (62 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.

The bike's tubular steel Trellis frame was fitted with a 43 mm fully adjustable upside-down Showa telescopic fork on the front and a fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber with progressive linkage on the rear.

As for the stopping power, the bike packed two 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 245 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear wheel, delivering excellent braking performance.
