In 2005, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati ST3, a sport-touring motorcycle manufactured from 2004 to 2008. The bike was part of the ST series that debuted in 1997, with the ST2 model as the first member of the family.

In 2004, the Ducati ST2 was released to replace the ST2 and ST4 models and featured a three-valve Desmotre engine with less maintenance than the ST4's engine, which was more expensive to maintain.

In the visual department, the 2005 Ducati ST3 was similar to its siblings, packing the same full fairing, a single headlight, a one-piece dual seat with a passenger grab rail, a dual exhaust system with a silencer on each side, and three-spoke lightweight alloy wheels.

As for the power figures, the ST3 machine packed a 994cc four-stroke liquid-cooled engine managed by a fuel injection system, boasting 83 hp with maximum strength at 8,500 rpm and 84 Nm (62 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.

The bike's suspension comprised a 43 mm fully adjustable upside-down telescopic Showa fork on the front and a fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber on the rear, offering excellent suspension performance and handling capabilities.

In the braking performance, the 2005 Ducati ST3 packed two 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 245 mm disc with a two-piston caliper on the rear wheel, offering reliable stopping power.
