DUCATI ST2 (1999-2000) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Ducati ST series was a range of sport-touring motorcycles manufactured by Ducati from 1997 to 2007. The range comprised the ST2, ST3, ST3S, ST4, and ST4S, while the ST2 was the first model in the series, first seen in 1997 in Europe and in 1999 was shipped to the USA.

In 1999, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati ST2, a sport touring machine in its third consecutive year of production with the same performance specifications as the previous models.

In the visual department, the bike packed a full fairing, integrated front turn signals, a windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with a passenger grab handle, three-spoke aluminum wheels, side-mounted saddlebags, and a dual exhaust system adjusted upwards when the panniers are off, for more cornering clearance.

In the performance department, the 1999 Ducati ST2 packed the same 994cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine as previous models, managed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system, boasting 83 hp at 8,500 rpm and 84 Nm (62 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.

The engine sent its power to a six-speed manual transmission with a dry multi-plate clutch and a final chain drive, pushing the bike to a top speed of 216 kph (134 mph).

As for braking performance, the bike's wheels were fitted with two 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front and a 245 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear, offering excellent stopping power.
