DUCATI Sport 1000S Limited Edition (2007-2008) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2007, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Sport 1000S Limited Edition, a single-seater limited edition machine made in 90 units available only for the American market and 10 for Canadian dealerships.

The 2007 Ducati Sport 1000S Limited Edition was wrapped in black paint with gold detailing inspired by the 1978 900SS Darmah. Besides that, the bike had the same specifications as the Ducati Sport 1000 Monoposto.

In the visual department, the bike packed standard features, such as a large, round headlight, a single seat, a dual exhaust system with two mufflers mounted on the right side of the bike, a single shock absorber on the left side, and wire-spoke wheels.

Underneath its fuel tank, the bike packed a 992cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine managed by an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, boasting 92 hp with a peak force at 8,000 rpm and 91 Nm (67 lb-ft) torque at 6,000 rpm.

In the handling department, the 2007 Ducati Sport 1000S Limited Edition packed a 43 mm fully adjustable USD Marzocchi fork on the front with 120 mm wheel travel and a fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber on the rear with 133 mm wheel travel.

As for the braking power, the wheels were fitted with two 320 mm discs coupled to four-piston calipers on the front and a 245 mm disc squeezed by a dual-piston caliper on the rear, offering excellent stopping power.
