DUCATI Sport 1000S (2008-2009) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2008, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Sport 1000S. This retro-styled motorcycle debuted in 2007 and was available only in red with a white stripe, while in 2009, the color scheme was changed to black with a white stripe.

Compared to the standard model, the Ducati Sport 1000S featured a front upper fairing like the Paul Smart model, dual-sided shock absorbers on the rear, and a dual exhaust system with a muffler on each side.

In the aesthetic department, the bike packed standard features, such as a Paul Smart front fairing with a large, round headlight, a small windscreen, a single seat, a dual exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels.

The bike's suspension comprised a 43 mm fully adjustable USD Marzocchi fork on the front with 120 mm wheel travel and a fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber on the rear that provided 133 mm wheel travel.

In the braking department, the wire-spoke wheels were fitted with two 320 mm discs paired to four-piston calipers on the front and a 245 mm disc squeezed by a dual-piston caliper on the rear, offering excellent stopping power.

As for the power figures, the 2008 Ducati Sport 1000S had its soul brought to life by a 992cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine managed by a fuel injection system, delivering 92 hp with maximum strength at 8,000 rpm and 91 Nm (67 lb-ft) torque at 6,000 rpm.
