DUCATI Sport 1000 Monoposto (2006-2007) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Ducati Sport Classic was a range of retro-styled machines introduced at the 2003 Tokyo Motor Show and released into the world in 2006. The Ducati Sport 1000 was part of the range and was manufactured from 2006 through 2009.

In 2006, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Sport 1000 Monoposto (single-seater), a machine inspired by the 1973 Ducati 750 Sport with the look of a classic, lightweight, single-seat cafe racer.

The 2006 motorcycle had a 60 mm section asymmetric swingarm, a single shock absorber mounted on the left side of the bike, two stacked mufflers on the right side, a low clip-on handlebar, and a dry clutch.

As for the visual department, the bike was fitted with standard features, such as a larger, round headlight, a single seat, bullet-shaped turn signals, a dual exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels with tubed Pirelli Phantom tires.

Underneath its fuel tank, the 2006 Ducati Sport 1000 Monoposto had installed a 992cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine fed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system, boasting 92 hp with a peak force at 8,000 rpm and 91 Nm (67 lb-ft) torque at 6,000 rpm.

The bike's suspension comprised a 43 mm fully adjustable USD fork with 120 mm wheel travel on the front and a fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber with 133 mm wheel travel on the rear.
