DUCATI MARK 3 (1967-1975) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Ducati Mark 3 was a standard motorcycle manufactured by Ducati from 1967 as a replacement model for the Ducati Diana Mark 3 and Mach 1 and continued production until 1974. The bike was initially made with a narrow case engine, but the newly introduced wide case was used in 1968.

In addition, a higher-performance version was manufactured under the Ducati 250 Mark 3D designation and used desmodromic valves. Total production reached 2,800 Mark 3 models and 1,300 Mark 3D versions.

When first introduced in 1967, the bike was similar to the Diana Mark 3 but used the dynamo and coil ignition of the European predecessor Mach 1 instead of using the flywheel magneto and generator from the Diana model.

In 1967, the Italian motorcycle maker introduced the Ducati Mark 3, a standard motorcycle with standard features, such as a round headlight up front, a single seat, dual side-mounted shock absorbers on the rear, and wire-spoke wheels.

In the performance department, the 1967 Ducai Mark 3 had its soul brought to life by a 249cc four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine managed by a Dell'Orto carburetor, delivering an output power of 30 hp at 8,000 rpm.

The bike was built around a simplex open cradle tubular steel frame with a telescopic fork, a drum braking unit on the front, a swingarm with two adjustable shocks on the rear, and a drum braking unit.
