DUCATI 1198R Corse Special Edition (2010-2011) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Ducati 1198 was a sports bike manufactured by Ducati from 2007 to 2009. The bike shared design elements with its 1908 predecessor but also came with more power and torque, redesigned wheels, lighter headlights, traction control, and paint modifications.

In 2010, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati 1198R Corse Special Edition, a machine that marked the introduction of a new Ducati Corse logo and packed a factory team-style aluminum fuel tank, a Corse livery, and a race kit.

Compared to the S version, the Ducati 1198R Corse came with a power boost that led to more power and torque, making it the most potent twin-cylinder machine available on the market then.

In addition, like its S-suffixed sibling, the R version featured carbon fiber body parts and a race-inspired livery, making it one of the most sought-after machines manufactured by the House of Bologna.

The 2010 Ducati 1198R Corse Special Edition took its power from a 1,198cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine with a fuel injection system handling the pistons, boasting 180 hp at 9,750 rpm and 134 Nm (99 lb-ft) torque with maximum peak force at 7,750 rpm.

The bike packed a lightweight exhaust system with a catalytic converter and two lambda sensors for optimum engine mapping and EURO3 compliance. The dual under-seat-mounted mufflers delivered the unmistakable signature note of the big bore Desmo 90 degrees L-twin engine.
