BMW K1300S HP (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

The BMW K1300R was a naked motorcycle made by BMW from 2008 to 2015. The bike replaced the BMW K1200R, which was their flagship urban motorcycle. The BMW K1300R was considered a muscle bike due to its high power output and fast acceleration.

A "Bike Magazine" test showed that the BMW K1300R was the fastest accelerating naked motorcycle, beating the Suzuki B-King by one-tenth of a second. Also, the bike has never been offered in the United States market, although it was sold in the smaller Canadian market.

In 2012, the German motorcycle manufacturer launched the BMW K1300R HP, a motorcycle that packed almost all technologies and race-derived parts available as optional on the model.

The bike came with standard features, such as Integral ABS, a gear shift assistant, Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA II), ASC, Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM), an on-board computer, heated grips, a windscreen, HP rear sets and passenger footpegs, a paddock stand, and an Akrapovic silencer.

In addition to its high-end technology, the bike featured carbon fiber elements, such as the front fender, an airbox cover, and a passenger seat cover. All these features made it the most powerful and agile production motorcycle available on the market at the time.

As for the power figures, the 2012 BMW K1300R had its soul brought to life by a 1,293cc four-stroke liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine that delivered an output power of 175 hp at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) torque at 8,250 rpm.
