In 2016, the German motorcycle manufacturer launched the BMW K1300S, a fully-fired sports motorcycle that debuted in 2008 as a replacement for the BMW K1200S, which has been in production since 2004.
Compared to its predecessor, the BMW K1300S had a larger engine that delivered more power, redesigned fairings, and a new exhaust system. The bike was manufactured from 2008 until 2016, when it was dropped from the range.
The 2016 BMW K1300S was in its ninth and last year of production, featuring the latest technology and accessories developed by German engineers. Over its production years, the motorcycle followed the same recipe from the start without any significant modifications.
For appearance, the bike packed a full fairing with a single headlight, a small windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with passenger grab handles, a four-into-one exhaust system, a single-sided swingarm, and 10-spoke lightweight aluminum wheels.
The bike was built on an aluminum bridge-type frame with the renowned Duolever front and Paralever rear suspension system, offering excellent suspension performance and handling.
The braking power was achieved by two 320 mm discs coupled with four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 265 mm disc squeezed by a dual-piston caliper on the rear wheel.
In the performance department, the 2016 BMW K1300S had installed underneath its bodywork a 1,293cc four-stroke liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine that delivered an output power of 175 hp at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) torque at 8,250 rpm.
