BMW K1300S (2013-2014) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2013, the German motorcycle manufacturer launched the BMW K1300S, a fully-fired sports machine that debuted in 2008 as a replacement for the BMW K1200S that has been in production since 2004. The 2013 machine was available in Sapphire Black Metallic with Dark Graphite Metallic, while Magma Red with Sapphire Black Metallic was no longer available.

When it was first released in 2008, the bike came with a larger engine, more power, redesigned fairings, and a new exhaust system compared to its predecessor. The bike was manufactured for nine years, until 2016, and it was available with state-of-the-art technologies over its production period.

In the aesthetic department, the bike featured a full fairing with a small windscreen, a single headlight, a one-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, a four-into-one exhaust system with a muffler mounted on the right side, a single-sided swingarm, a 10-spoke lightweight sports wheels.

The bike was manufactured on an aluminum bridge-type frame with a Duolever front and Paralever rear suspension system for excellent handling. As for braking power, the bike's wheels were fitted with two 320 mm discs and four-piston calipers on the front and a 265 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear wheel.

In the performance department, the 2013 BMW K1300S had installed underneath its fairing a 1,293cc four-stroke liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine with a fuel injection system in charge, boasting 175 hp at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) torque at 8,250 rpm.
