BMW K1300S (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

The BMW K1300S was a sports motorcycle introduced in 2008 as a replacement to the BMW K1200S that has been in production since 2004. The K1300S featured a displacement increase, more power, new redesigned fairings, and a new exhaust system.

In 2012, the German motorcycle manufacturer launched the BMW K1300S, a sports motorcycle fitted with standard features, such as a full fairing, a small windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, a single exhaust system mounted on the right side, 10-spoke lightweight wheels, and a side stand.

In addition, the bike featured adjustable handbrake and clutch levers that could accommodate riders with different arm lengths. Also, the bike was available with many accessories and technologies, enhancing its overall capabilities, whether on the road or the track.

The bike was built on an aluminum bridge-type frame with a Duolever front and Paralever rear suspension system. The bike's wheels were fitted with two 320 mm discs coupled to four-piston calipers and a 265 mm disc with two-piston calipers on the rear, offering excellent stopping power.

As for the power figures, the 2012 BMW K1300S had installed a 1,293cc four-stroke liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine with a fuel injection system in charge, delivering 175 hp at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) torque at 8,250 rpm.

The bike's engine worked in tandem with a six-speed manual transmission that spun the rear wheel through a final shaft drive, pushing the motorcycle to 277 kph (172 mph).
